Will you be visiting Dubai anytime soon? If so, you’ve arrived just at the right place. While you can find all kinds of food in Dubai, there is something truly special about the local Emirati cuisine. It’s a must for anyone who visits.
There are many new Emirati cafes and restaurants opening, and you can try delicious pieces of bread, pastries, Arabic coffee, shawarma, and so much more. If you like this blog, you can check out more of my blogs on my website: Irina Bukatik.
Luqaimat
Have you had dumplings before? Luqaimat is similar to doughnuts in texture and taste but is essentially hot dumplings made in fresh batches in many Dubai cafes. These dumplings are topped with sesame seeds and dipped into a sticky yet yummy date sauce. Have it with your morning coffee.
You can find Luqaimat at Arabian Tea House.
Knafeh
Knafeh is a favorite amongst Middle Easterns. It’s an ancient sweet dish and Middle Eastern dessert. Many say it’s from Palestine; However, UAE locals love it. It’s made with pastry dough, sour cheese, and crisp sugary syrup. It’s served hot, and people devour it within seconds. Most people in Dubai love having it during Ramadan during Iftaar.
You can find Knafeh at Feras Al Diyafa Sweets and Qwaider Al Nabulsi.
Turkish Cocktails
Dubai’s cocktail scene has been growing, and it’s extremely lively. You can check out the Anatolian Fizz available at Ruya. It’s made with pomegranate molasses, sparkling wine, rose, citrus, and raspberry. Ruya has amazing cocktails, which are all about that classic Turkish touch with flavor from ingredients like rose, hibiscus, pomegranate, spices, honey, mint, and citrus.
Arabic Coffee with Dates
Many places in the UAE will serve you their complimentary Arabic hot coffee. If you want to try the signature Arabic Qahwa with local organic dates, you can visit Café Bateel and try their Arabic coffee made with cardamom and slightly roasted beans. It’s a traditional coffee loved by anyone who tries it.
Shawarma
Shawarma is popular street food in many counties. You are bound to find a Shawarma stall in Dubai. Some top choices are Al Mallah, Aroos Damascus, Shiraz Nights, and Hatam Al Tai. They have delicious beef and chicken shawarmas with garlic aioli and tasty spices. You can’t miss out on this!
